From redecorating her childhood bedroom to having the most stylish dorm room, Katie has always had an eye for what looks good. Katie received a degree in Business and Advertising in 2002. After working in Advertising sales for a few years she needed to fulfill that desire to break into Home Design by working at Ethan Allen. There she learned the business of side of design & the importance of building client communication, as well as the confidence to express her unique design aesthetic.
After a few years of being home raising her 2 children and feeling her creative side calling, she started to redecorate her own Tutor home built in 1933. Mixing traditional looks with a clean modern take, she was asked time after time to help friends with their homes. With friend referrals exploding and her desire for a way to fulfill her natural creative spirit, Katie decided to create Hoodridge Design, a curated home design and renovation experience for modern living.
I got endless questions on design tips, color combos, where to shop,
where to find custom pieces, the best layout for my room.
Named after the eclectic brick street in Mt Lebanon, her house on Hoodridge Drive represents the first home renovation and design that kick started her career.
From lux living room design to custom kitchen and bath renovations, Katie loves adding those specialty design features to create a twist of classic home design with infectious confidence and ease. She brings a stylish comfortable approach that clients find bring their homes to life. Katie adapts her signature style to meet the needs of her unique clients, helps make all those tedious detail decisions a feel-good breeze.
THE KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT STARTS WITH THE DREAM TEAM
Katie and Susan became immediate friends when their boys were in preschool together. After chairing the ‘big' preschool fundraiser 2 years in a row, Katie knew Susan was the perfect partner for handling high stress situations that come along with big design projects…and all with a smile.
...the person that keeps your project details in order
Part of working with Hoodridge Design is the importance of budget management and communication. Susan sends each client a weekly update on the progress of your project and manages the day to day small business details and orders. She brings another unique client experience to your project.
